Don’t be fooled by your weight! You could still be at risk for diabetes

Does being skinny mean that you are off the hook from getting diabetes?

Dr Kyle Tan, Founder, Chief Product and Business Development Officer of NOVI Health, shared some insights with Channel News Asia on how this misperception leaves those who appear slim unaware that they could be vulnerable too.

“Skinny-fat” Asians may carry more visceral fat, which may interfere with normal glucose regulation, leading to a higher risk of Type 2 diabetes.

Personalized health assessments, considering factors like body composition, can provide more accurate diabetes risk assessments and tailored health plans.

Check out our NOVI Magnum program, where you will receive medical and lifestyle support from a doctor and dietician to help you achieve your diabetes and weight management goals.
